A New York New Years Fallacy

As many of you know, Ryan and I have been saving our money to buy our own home since we moved in with my parents. Well, we had set a specific goal and decided that if we could reach this goal by New Years, that we would celebrate by going to New York City for a weekend- just the two of us! Well, we reached our goal! So we left Hailey at home with my parents (so blessed to have willing and loving grandparents and aunties to watch her)!

(our drive to NY)

Ryan and I drove through non-stop snow all the way to my Aunt Sue's house in New York on Saturday, spent 2 freezing cold days in New York City, and drove back home New Years Day. It was a lot of fun! We got to see a lot of things! Our favorite adventure was a biking carriage tour through central park! It was so great! Our guide was from Africa and had a sweet accent! He showed us a ton of historical sites and talked all about the history, the fame, the excitement over certain parts of the park and surrounding buildings. It was pretty awesome!

Our first day we walked all over Times Square and went through the M&M store! We ate at a great little italian restaurant right there too! We did our Central Park Tour and we also did some shopping, and went to a comedy club night... which was eye opening to say the least.

(LOOK! It's BALTO! Gotta love that dog!)

(Us and our Guide... he insisted on standing next to me... lol)

On day two we went to Grand Central Station, 9/11 memorial, Empire State Building, and my fav- Potbellies! We also went to see Radio City and Rockefeller Center!

(Ever seen Project Runway??? This is the fabric store they always go to!!!)

(Not sure what this was- but there was a matching woman on the other side of the mall entrance. They spare no details....)

Now, most of you think that we were actually IN Times Square on New Years Eve and perhaps even looked for us on screen. But I am a tad ashamed to tell you that we were not there. We spent too much time site-seeing that day that by the time we got over to Times Square, they had already blocked it off and wouldn't let anyone else in! So we decided that we'd seen enough anyways, we'd seen the ball, we'd seen Time Square. So we went back to my aunt's house and spent new years eve with them! And we had a blast! No regrets! So I am sorry if you are disappointed, but we like our boring old married life :)
(Ryan forgot his Church clothes, so when we went to church with my aunt and cousins, Ryan had to borrow Parker's clothes... Lookin' Spiffy!!!)

(At the train station waiting to head into the city!)

Ryan and I decided we were meant for a quieter life. We couldn't do city life. Too much. Too fast. Too loud.
