Texas Roadhouse Rodeo

So we finally got some long-awaited news for Ryan! He has officially been offered, and has accepted, a job position in Rockville, MD! He starts June 4th! We are so excited! We'll be moving back to VA to live with my family while we save up enough to buy our own place. To celebrate, Ryan's parents took us out to Texas Roadhouse! That was quite an experience. Hailey was a chatterbox beyond any other chatterbox! We put her in one of those restaurant highchairs that sits at the end of the table and in the middle of the walkways... ya those. Well she decided that she needed to compete with the noise in the restaurant. She was happily squealing at anything and everything! Of course, every one who walked by thought she was just the cutest thing ever! Another family with a little boy sat next to us. The boy was also in a highchair. Hailey proceed to squeal at the boy VERY loudly the whole time! When she realized he couldn't hear her, or wasn't paying attention she began a full-fledge yell at this poor boy. He never had a chance. I think she scared him half to death. Then whenever the waitress came to our table, Hailey would try to steal the straws out of her apron. So finally, the girl gave her one of the straws to play with. Which kept her happy temporarily. She must not have liked when I took the paper wrapping off of it for her because as soon as the waitress came back Hailey put the unwrapped, slobbery, chewed up straw back into the apron and grabbed a new one! It was SO funny! We couldn't stop laughing at her! She is going to be quite the firecracker! But beware of old people- they scare her! It's the darndest thing!

Hurricane Fun

So here in Hurricane, we've been trying to take advantage of the warm weather. We've been suffering in the cold way too long! And now we are FREEEE! We love to spend as much time in the sun as possible! And Hailey loves it too! We've been to a nearby lake several times. It's called Sand Hallow Lake and it is beautiful! It's surrounded by red rocks and the water is a bright blue green. Hailey loves the water! She is quite the fishy! We also have been spending a lot of time in the pool in the backyard. It's been so warm that we take a swim almost every day. The only thing to deter us is the wind. Sometimes it really gets going and the wind makes the air too cool for pool swimming. I guess that's why they call it Hurricane, Ut!

Externship Extravaganza

So I started my externship on our two year anniversary- April 16th. It's been quite an adventure so far! I've been able to do EKG's, stitches, remove stitches, run the autoclave, set up sterile fields, talk to patients, give shots to old and young, irrigate nasty ears, paperwork, and so on! It's great! I work in a family practice office that has 3 doctors and 2 NP's. Each doctor has a Medical Assistant and so I've been rotating around with all the Ma's and providers to watch and help. Recently they've brought on another MA intern... and well, it's less than ideal. I always feel in competition- even though there isn't one. It's stressful. But hey! i'm over halfway there! I'm 4 weeks in and only 2 weeks and a day left! Bring. It. On.
