Feeling Crafty

Well, I am now finished with my 2nd trimester and on to my 3rd! And with this progression comes a certain sense of "nesting" or "craftiness" that I feel. I have been working on a quilt for our little Hailey (haylie?) And I'm so excited about it! And with all the baby bedding sitting around and the slowly growing pile of baby clothes- i feel like i need to set her room up!!! But we need to get rid of some things before we can do that. I'll be posting a Blog sale of all the things we are getting rid of soon. But for now- I shall be crafty and finish this cute little quilt and make cute little headband bows for her! :D

So, a little side note. Our stake added two new wards this week and adjusted all the ward boundaries. Well guess who got moved our of their ward- us. We had been in that ward for almost a full year and now go to a different ward that meets at 1pm and has sacrament last. Ug. I'm not so please about this. Plus, the calling I received a few weeks ago was automatically released from me when the boundaries switched. Sigh. Oh well, new ward means new opportunities, right? I'm going to miss my old ward though. They were so great!

A Warm Rain

Today was GORGEOUS! If ever there was a perfect day in Rexburg- it was today! The weather was warm and sunny! If only every day in Rexburg could be like today! Today was just a normal routine day in our lives. Ryan's alarm goes off at the very butt-crack of dawn and while I try to stay asleep for another hour or so, the pipes in the walls from the shower scream at me to stay awake- sometimes they even find their way into my dreams. It's ridiculous... anyone got a could pair of noise-canceling headphones?! Today in my Medical Assisting Lab we finished up doing our practice shots. Boy am I glad to see that section pass by! We 've learned 5 different sets of shots in the past few weeks: SubQ, Intradermal, Intramuscular (deltoid, thigh, and butt shots)! It's really neat to know how to do it all now! But I definitely have had to get over my fears just a little bit! :) Next week- drawing blood! Oh heaven, help me!

This evening, it rained- not too hard, but a good rain- the warm kind that makes you reminisce about Virginia thunderstorms. I miss it there! I miss all of you there too!

By the way- Hailey is getting bigger and bigger by the second, it feels like. My belly button is now poking out and putting my shoes on gets harder and harder to accomplish each day!

A few Holidays

So, I've been lazy and haven't been updating my blog. As a result some holidays have come and gone that I would like to tell about! I'll start with Mother's Day. This mother's day was my first time actually celebrating it for myself. Some would say that I shouldn't even celebrate it until next year because technically our baby isn't born yet- but I am still her mother and I am still caring for her, even if she is still in side me. That's cause enough to celebrate for me! :) So Ryan got me beautiful flowers and the best part was a gift card to the snow shack!!! A shave-ice stand here in rexburg. I crave that and french fries almost daily!! So it was a good mother's day- plus ryan made me an awesome breakfast of scrambled eggs, turkey bacon (my fav), and toast with OJ!

The next holiday was Ryan's 24th Birthday! Last year I got him rockclimbing shoes and a harness, so I carried on the tradition and bought him a rockclimbing rope! Does anyone else think its ridiculous how much they charge for a processed piece of rope? I do! But it was worth it to see the look on Ryan's face! Thanks to my parents and his parents- who pitched in on the gift. And thanks to our friends the Martin's for buying it at whole sale for us! Ryan had no idea! He was so surprised! Especially when he learned that the rope had been sitting underneath him behind the couch for almost 2 weeks! Haha! Happy birthday to my wonderful husband!

The last holiday on the list was Memorial Day. We had a three day weekend off from school and work! It was glorious... until it started raining and sleeting- that was NOT glorious! We had planned to spend the weekend camping and going to Yellowstone National Park. We started driving to Yellowstone on saturday only to turn around and come straight back 2 hours down the road when we came across a mudslide! Lame! So then we decided to go camping with our friends, the Martin's- since it was still nice out. But we had a tough time locating a good spot. Finally we settled in around 9pm and had a wonderful evening of foil steak dinners and strawberry dumpling in a dutch oven! It was heavenly! The next morning- it rained. Then on Monday- it sleeted. I was NOT happy.

All-in-all, it's been a great couple of weeks. I have been keeping busy with my medical assisting classes-which i'm LOVING! Except for the part where I had to overcome my fear of needles enough to practice on others and be practiced on. This semester is flying by! Only 3 more months until little Hailey Renae Ferons comes into the world! I cannot wait!

It's a Girl

We had our ultrasound appointment on Wednesday and... ITS A GIRL!!! Hahhaha, It's kind of funny considering both of our families are already full of girls! But everyone is so excited! We are so happy to be having this sweet baby girl come into our lives. We can't wait! 4 and 1/2 more months!!! Yesterday Ryan and I took a trip down to Idaho Falls for some shopping and I got my first pair of maternity pants EVER! It was kind of exciting! But at the same time- really weird. Those things are not meant to look cute! But put a shirt on, no one can tell! Plus, they are surprisingly comfy! I also got a couple of maternity shirts, because wearing tight shirts makes me slightly self-conscious these days.
As far as school goes, I'm really enjoying this semester so far! It feels so great to actually be study specifically what I want to do finally! It's great! I'm taking A Medical Assisting class and the clinical lab, an administrative skills class, and a law and ethics class for medical practices. I'm also taking a Personal Achievement class for fun and a water aerobics class for exercise! Both really fun so far! Although, I think my water aerobics teacher is a little off her rocker! Anyways, life is good right now! I have been blessed.

Baby Bump!

The time has come- I am finally sporting a baby bump at 19 weeks! I have mixed feelings about this though. I know it's supposed to be cute and fun, but man... it's kinda depressing to watch that scale keeping going up and up. The things we do for children, right?

So, I have been struggling with another pregnancy challenge that maybe you guys can give me some tips on... People really just don't think before they comment on my growing belly! "You're looking SO pregnant!" or "You're getting SO big!" or "Wow, you are really showing!" How are any of those compliments?!?! And then comes the belly pats and rubbing and touching. I just don't know how to react sometimes haha. Well, next week we find out if the little squirt is a boy or girl! Stay tuned!

Pushing Forward

So, it's been awhile since I last made an entry. Life has been more than hectic. Being in school and working and being pregnant all at the same time sucks! It's terrible. At least I'm officially past the sickness phase and on to my second trimester. Apparently you are supposed to have "renewed energy"... but so far that has not shown true. I'm exhausted. Of course, that could be due to the fact that school is kicking my butt and the end of the semester is always stressful with so many tests and finals and papers due at the same time. Guhhh. But I did have a nice little break. I spent 5 days in Virginia with my family and my best friend's wedding! It was so wonderful for so many reasons. A) It was 70-80 degrees out there which was heavenly! B) I got to be with my sisters and parents whom I love ever so much and miss squishing them all (especially my two youngest sisters- they have a squishable quality about them). C) I got to see my best friend, Anna, get married in the temple! It was awesome! Of course, I forgot my temple recommend in Idaho and had to make frantic calls an hour before the ceremony to get them to let me in! It was a scary moment. I was NOT going to be happy if I flew all the way out there and didn't get to go into the wedding ceremony! But I did, and I cried, and it was happy! :) Then we drove around DC in a limo taking pictures and stuff. And of course the wind was blowing in 4 directions at once and so our hairs are all over the place, but it was fun and Anna looked gorgeous and Travis even smiled enough to look like he was truly happy! It was cute :) I am so happy for them! LIVE LONG AND PROSPER!
Anyways, as for this baby growing inside of me- this week he is avocado size, which is slightly larger than an apple apparently. I have another doctors apt this thursday and then the next one I'll find out the sex! WOOO! I can't wait! Cross your fingers for a boy... on second thought too many crossed fingers might jinx it- so dont. :)

From Lime to Plum

So the past couple of weeks have been kinda crazy! I've been trying to concentrate on school, and nap time. Everything else has been put on hold. It's so crazy how much I sleep these days... I mean, the little squirt is so tiny, yet taking up ALL my energy and MORE! It's insane! He has officially grown into the size of a lime and is on its way to plum size! I love relating his size to produce! It makes it fun! haha.
I got some good and bad news this week. I (for the 3rd time) did not get into the BYU-Idaho's stinking Nursing Program! It's ridiculous! I could go on and on about how the system is wack! But, I'll save you from all the boring details. Most people's eyes glaze over before I'm done with that rant. So anyways, it's kind of a blessing this time. If I had gotten in, I would have had to go through a rigorous 2nd semester of Nursing school WHILE giving birth and caring for a new born. That would have been so tough! But now, I wont be on track in the fall and will be able to focus on recovery and adaptation to life as a new mother! I've decided to go into Medical Assisting instead and get my associates in that and be done. Then I will have two associates degrees and can work in any doctors office or hospital. Phew.. only two more semesters to go! Can't wait!!!
